Rossana Petrillo
The artist is known for her delicate female subjects that emerge from exquisite damask fabrics and silks. In her fabrics, which with their classic patterns provide the habitat for an all-female humanity, the artist directly references the fin de siècle atmospheres, inspired by the artists of the "rive gauche" of the Seine and the Belle Epoque of the roaring Parisian years, brought to life by the energy of the "chanteuses," with skirts rich in ruffles and swirling lace.
