RICHARD SILVAGGIO

Richard Silvaggio is an Australian-born artist living in Italy. Early in his career, he was drawn to the grotesque, the bizarre, and the ugly. Now, he has largely abandoned the use of color in his work and creates primarily in black, white, and shades of gray. This minimalist grace is ever-present in his pieces, which convey the subtleties of texture, the female form, and the subject's "eternal repetition of gesture."
